Susanna Sung, LCSW-C

You deserve to live an audacious life. You deserve to be seen. You deserve to have your stories held and validated. I am passionate about helping to empower you to find your voice and live your life on your terms. I provide compassionate, supportive, trauma-informed psychotherapy for adults with depression, anxiety, stress, grief, relationship issues, identity issues, ADHD, and many other issues.

― My background

I have almost 30 years of experience as a clinical social worker, and received my Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. I have had an extensive career at the National Institute of Mental Health supporting the nation’s research in mental illnesses, and am a national trainer and public speaker. I am also a subject matter expert and consultant for social work licensure exams and worked on the social work compact to increase accessibility and portability of social work services.

I am deeply committed to providing a safe space to empower you to learn new coping skills, deepen relationships with yourself and others, and to live a more fulfilled life.

I provide services virtually in Maryland, and will have in-person availability in Howard County soon.

Things To Know:

I am a self-pay provider to maximize your privacy, which means you will pay me directly. I can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement if you have Out Of Network (OON) benefits. Please check to see if you have OON benefits. Typically, OON benefits will cover 40-60% of the costs, so may be closer to your co-pay than you would have thought. Please talk with your insurance provider to decide what is best for you. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions about insurance.

If you are in crisis, please call or text 988. This is the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and is available 24/7/365. Your conversations are free and confidential.

A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is provided to give you a clear understanding of the anticipated costs for therapy services. The estimated costs are based on the information available at the time of this estimate and reflect my best efforts to anticipate the total expenses for your care. Please note that actual costs may vary depending on your specific needs and any changes to the treatment plan. I am committed to transparency and will notify you of any changes that may affect your financial responsibilities. More information: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
